About Me

Hi! I’m Tai :)

I’m Brazilian, curious, and a big fan of real connections. I love traveling, meeting people from different backgrounds, and getting genuinely immersed in local culture, whether it’s by talking to strangers, tasting something I can’t pronounce, or getting lost in a random street that ends up leading to an unexpected and unforgettable view.

I’m the kind of person who enjoys simple things in life and still gets amazed by a full moon, even though I know it shows up every few weeks.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe people make places. I love meeting locals and travelers around the world. Couchsurfing allows me to go beyond the obvious, find unexpected kindness, and build beautiful memories in every corner of the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all kinds of rhythms, from jazz and salsa to Brazilian music and good old rock. Alanis Morissette is my forever favorite. Music plays a big role in setting the tone for my days and travels.

When it comes to movies, I love stories that make me feel or think, especially those based on true events. I’m into action films like 007 and Mission: Impossible (even if I already know how they end, I still get into it every time!), war-themed movies, and documentaries. I’m not really a fan of romantic comedies… but You’ve Got Mail has my heart forever, I’ve watched it more times than I can count.

As for books, I enjoy memoirs, historical narratives, and books that explore human nature. Lately, I’ve fallen into the world of Agatha Christie — her mysteries have become my perfect travel companions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once spent three days biking through the Chapada dos Veadeiros in Brazil, not as an athlete at all, but as someone who said “yes” to the adventure. Along with friends, we rode through stunning landscapes, discovered untouched waterfalls, and camped in a remote community in the middle of nowhere. It was tough, beautiful, and one of the most enriching experiences of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a bit of Portuguese, talk about travel planning or cultural differences. I’d love to learn about your favorite local food, how you celebrate life where you live, or simply what your everyday looks like. I believe the small things reveal a lot. I’m always up for exchanging stories, laughs, and perspectives.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A respectful and warm company, interesting stories, and great conversation. I’m flexible, easygoing, and happy to help with anything, from cooking a meal together to sharing what I know. I’ll always treat your space with care and gratitude.
