About Me

CURRENT MISSION

communicate the incommunicable

ABOUT ME

optimistic about our chances of spending most if not all of the next 50 years happy, and pleased by the opportunity to share that time with anyone else who prefers the journey to the concept of a destination.

"i'm gonna die with a twinkle in my eye
'cos i sung songs spun stories loved laughed and drank wine"

PHILOSOPHY

"if you have good thoughts, they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely."
-roald dahl

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

when stationary i host; when in motion i surf. whichever role i happen to be fulfilling, i tend to end up cooking.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

people are basically wonderful, and couchsurfing provides a means of establishing this time and again.

Interests

psytrance, poetry, supine stationary voyages to the antipodes of the mind, relaxation, walking and walking for hours on end, powered and unpowered flight, remembering things i'd forgotten, rediscovering lost kingdoms, setting the world to rights, contact juggling (at a pretty low level so far), travelling to find the summer and turning golden in the heat, getting rained on, having roses in december, red&blue, seeking to perpetuate those moments of clarity when you love everyone and nothing can harm you. where beauty and beauty met, earth's still atremble there, and winds are scented yet, and memory-soft the air.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

spent two months travelling from germany to japan by train, bus, taxi, thumb and ferry, avoiding russia entirely. this involved a fair bit of non-linguistic communication, a very long weekend in a village with no running water at the top of the world, hitching 3000km through china, surviving a car crash, and meeting friendly people all along the way of course.
