About Me
Prospective postgraduate student from Tokyo looking for a homestay / local connection
Hi everyone,
I’m Takeru, from Tokyo, Japan. I’m planning to visit the UK from 28th January to 27th February, and I’m looking forward to experiencing life there!
Regarding my English level, I currently have an IELTS score of 6 (CEFR B2).
While I can express myself well, I sometimes find it a bit challenging to catch everything in fast-paced conversations, so I’m keen to immerse myself in English-speaking environments while I'm there.
The main reasons for my visit are:
University Preparation: I’ve received conditional offers from several UK universities.
areas are (Bristol, Aberystwyth, Bongor, Aston)
I want to visit the campuses to get a feel for the lifestyle, speak with the admissions offices about course structures, and enquire about scholarship opportunities.
Networking: I’m hoping to connect with alumni working in Venture Capital or Investment Banking to learn more about the industry and future career prospects.
Language and Culture: As an extrovert, I love meeting new people! I want to improve my natural English fluency by chatting with locals and my hosts as much as possible.
I’m a sincere, passionate, and easy-going person. Please don’t worry about my English skills—I’m a very proactive communicator and I’m always happy to be corrected!
In return for your hospitality, I would love to share stories about Japanese culture, teach you some useful Japanese phrases, and share some traditional Japanese sweets (maccha) that I’ll be bringing from Tokyo.
I really hope to make this trip a success and look forward to meeting you soon!
Best regards,
よろしくお願いします。m(__)m
