About Me

Gain knowledge and experience through traveling

Soooo, I was born in Osaka Japan and lived there till I was 9. My mother decided that we (my two brothers and I) would have better opportunities living in the US. Not necessary opportunities as in career but as children. Since Japan is a super competitive place to make a living, you would have to be on top of your studies as a young child and all throughout your youth. But my mother believed that children should have time to play and enjoy their youth. Basically, my mother brought us over to the States so my brothers and I would have more time to play :]

I came to the US when I was 9 and lived in Southern California (near LA) for 12 years. Then I moved up to San Francisco. Now, I'm studying abroad in London until June 2015.

Doing stupid things will make you smart. Probably..

Be weird, be something other than "normal"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've hosted a couple couch surfers in SF and I surfed in Amsterdam. They have both been good experiences. I've met many cool people at CS events!

Interests, interests, interests.....hmmm well, I like to cook! I've been cooking all kinds of things lately. I like to make food that is interesting and new. I don't like to stick to recipes, I'm more into inventing my own recipe.

I also like trees. I have a few little bonsai trees. they're pretty cool. I also like playing golf because it's more of a mental game than anything else. Hiking is also cool. I also ride motorcycles. I like to stand up while riding and lean forward so the only thing in my field of view is the road. It's the closest I can get to flying. Also, lately I've been into rock climbing a lot. I would love to go climbing in as many countries as possible.

I also believe it's important to explore. I like to walk around aimlessly in a city by myself. I find something cool every single time. A city you even know. You'll always learn something new.

I'm also into photography. Which is what I do when I walk around aimlessly.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One time I was driving my car and ran out of gas on purpose just to see how it felt. That was interesting.
One time I sprayed lysol on my hand and lit it on fire and when I tried to put it out, it wouldn't go out so I stepped on my own hand to put the fire out. That was brilliantly amazing I must say.
Btw these are things I did in my teenage years so don't worry, I won't burn your house down.

More recent things I've done. I went ice climbing in Iceland. That was badass.
I've explored caves in Budapest, rode camels in Morocco, seen the cliffs of Moher in Ireland, drank beers in Prague cus it's cheaper than water (still woulda drank it even if it wasn't cheaper. lol), been skiing in the Austrian Alps, ate churros in Madrid, watched Messi score goals in Barcelona, seen Van Vogh's inspiring art in Amsterdam, been to Christmas markets in Berlin, seen the first Mercedes in Stuttgard, seen Stonehenge in England, rock climbed in Wales, celebrated st. Paddy's day in Dublin, hiked in snow in Norway, met beautiful girls in Sweden, dove into the bluest water in Malta, eaten the best risotto in Italy. Those are some of the things I can think of at the moment.

I've also reenacted the scene from the film "Notting Hill" where they hope over the fence to sneak into a private garden. We actually did it in Notting Hill as well!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn! Especially about different culture and languages. I can also teach a little bit of the Japanese language and culture. I used to breakdance for 5 years so I can teach you a little of that if that's something you fancy. I can teach you how to handstand and I'm confident in my technique that you'll learn it!

Living in London for a year, I've learn that there is so much difference in the language people speak here from American English. It's definitely my favorite part of being in London. I find so much interest in it! It literally broadens the English I speak.
