Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In order to see the places I visit from the eye of a local and help people to do the same in my country. Touristical places and museums are great but to stay in somebody's house in a completely different place is amazes me more.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really like Russian literature; Tolstoy, Dostoevsky and Gogol are some of my favorite authors. I also like reading modern German novels and stories from Patrick Suskind, Henrich Böll or Hermann Hesse. Balzac also has a very special place in my heart. Other than than I love reading stories of Turkish authors. As Turks we have a very strong tradition of story telling and writing. Haldun Taner, Yusuf Atılgan, Mustafa Kutlu and Sait Faik are some of our great story-writers.
I used to love watcing movies back in high school; I have watched all movies of Haneke, Tarkovsky and Palme d'or winner Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan. But for like 2 years I am rarely watch a movie.
