CURRENT MISSION

Be kind, be of service, be wise. I'm starting my career as a nurse! Very exciting. I'm hoping to work in hospice or birth, two sides of the same door. I'm also in the beginning stages of taking ordination as a Zen Buddhist.

ABOUT ME

I'm a nurse, a Buddhist , a backpacker, and a queer leftist. I love nursing, meditation, buddhism, the outdoors, reading, writing, art, community, queerness, antiracism, paganism, leftism, and environmentalism. I love traveling, and am excited to start traveling again now that I am a new grad nurse!

PHILOSOPHY

Be intimate with whatever is happening. Feel my feelings. Study myself. Engage with my body, and stay aware.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

CS is a delightful, inspiring community of international travelers. Perhaps my biggest passion in life is community building and participation, and I love being a part of this one. It's through our support that this community is thriving the world over, and I'm in awe to watch it grow.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been couch surfing for a number of years now, having been hosted across the US in cities such as Seattle, San Diego, Portland, etc. In return, I've hosted travelers from France, Norway, and whoever else calls, whenever I'm in a space which allows me to.

To me art is go insofar as it instills some feeling in me, some depth of emotion.
Music: Trevor Hall, Peia, Chopin, Yaima, Gone Gone Beyond, Heilung, Wardruna.
Books: Dharma books, Poli Cannon to Mahayana Sutras to contemporary writings. Currently reading the three body problem. Classics like the Poetic Edda and Beowulf.
Movies: About time, cloud atlas, everything everywhere all at once, Judas and the Black Messiah.

I've sat a lot of meditation retreats, and goodness, they are a blessing and a challenging experience!

I love sharing kindness and reflective listening with others. I love sharing my practice in Zen Buddhism with my friends, and I love sharing food! I'm always excited to learn, whatever it is that life has to offer.
