ABOUT ME

I'm a little lady from Alabama who likes being outside and learning new things. Currently working on a Biology degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Big dream: be on the team of biologists that finds a cure for white nose syndrome in bats.
More realistic dream: be a park ranger or field biologist for the forest service.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used CSing for the first time when I was 19 and alone in London. Even though I had no references, I was graciously welcome by an incredible host. Every experience with the site from then on has been amazing .

Books - Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke, Ishmael by Daniel Quinn, everything Jane Goodall has ever written, nonfiction books about evolutionary biology/ecology

Hitchhiking from Barcelona to Paris, picking mushrooms with a wonderful Catalan family (that I met though CSing) in the Pyrenees Mountains, backpacking solo through Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand

We weren't legally allowed to brew beer in Alabama until 2008 (there was a whole "free the hops" movement) and we're very proud of our breweries now so I usually bring hosts some AL beer as a thank you gift.
