About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To always smile.
I wrote this a few years ago. I still like it, but maybe I'm a little older and wiser now
ABOUT ME

I'm going to cheat for this one. I posted this on a Facebook thing where each person had to write 25 things about himself.
1. I've been waiting for someone to tag me in one of these things for a month. Now that someone has I don't know why I wanted to share 25 things about myself
2. I believe that most people can do almost anything and that their success at it is mostly a function of there perseverance. That’s way less people have been successful since they made facebook.
3. I am convinced that no drug is as good as alcohol.
4. When I do intense sports, like running a lot, I do mathematical calculations in my head to pass the time
5. I like women with a bit of meat on the bone.
6. For a while I was sure I was going to be a professional chef, then I was sure I was going to be a technology thingy, today I think I might work in the financial markets.
7. I am the only atheist I know who is truly an atheist and truly tolerant of peoples religious beliefs. I have even found myself envious of people who do have belief.
8. I have a thing for poop, asses and farts. Not a sexual thing
9. I don't have a television. I think that most of the stuff broadcasted on tv serves to make us, the people, exceedingly stupid. I'm not sure whose purpose it serves, but I refuse to be part of the lowest common denominator.
10. I am definitely a bit of an elitist. To my dismay as time goes on I am starting to realize I may not be part of the elite.
11. I have had 14 different piercings.
12. My favorite book is Master and Margarita. One time when I was drunk in the states I gave an impassioned speech about what a genius the author is for thinking of a talking cat hanging on a chandelier and shooting at the police with a Tommy gun.
13. On the same night I met a man twice my height and three times my width. I decided it would be fun to shake his belly. Thank you Stephanie for getting me out of there alive.
14. I think I am much more of a geek than I like to show.
15. I've never had a scab on my body I didn’t pick at.
16. the first time I read thus spoke Zarathustra I cried a few a times. It has remained the most influential book I have read.
17. I refused to watch Lost for four years. I finally downloaded an episode a few months ago and finished the first four seasons in a few weeks.
18. I think that fine dining should be reserved for those who appreciate paying lots of money for small portions of perfection. Everyone else should just eat humus,
19. My parents are very liberal. They condoned my trip to burning man when I was 18. they condoned it again the next year, even though they saw the pictures from the previous one.
20. My favorite vegetable is avocado. [ I stand corrected, it is a fruit]
21.If i were a tree and a tree would be me than i would love to be a tree. But since I am I and a tree is a tree then I love to be me.
22. I am a very deductive and open minded person.
23. I will probably spend many years trying to figure out where /786 and /882 came from. [ Another correction, They are consecutive roots of the golden ratio]
24. the first time I understood what abstract beauty is was when I read the Odyssey.
25. If he wasn’t already dead, I would have Jackson Pollack shot. Anyone who respects his work idolizes a man who has made a fool out of a generation.

PHILOSOPHY

It's better to say something stupid than to search for a smart quote on wikiquotes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted a bunch and now that I am going to China I will surf.
I also went to a few CS meetings, one highlight of which was making sandwhiches with onions instead of bread.

Interests

I'm really curious anything interests me.
Recently I've been into finance and pricing models for financial deriviatives. I produce electronic music so I'm interested in that. Philosophy and theology are favourite subjects. I look cooking and nature too. And people, I like people.

Music
All of it.
From Oom KulTum to Prodigy to Bartok. I love music, Need music amd am anxious to hear more and more of it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Burningman.
This was the most amazing experience of my life. Burningman is an "arts festival" and a place of "radical self expression" and anything else you wan tit to be.
Its a place where you can wander aloen in the desert and find a rubber ducky that has a jazz bar in it, see a guy get zapped by a tesla coil and meet a lto fo crazy creative people. And be a crazy creative person.

Teach, Learn, Share

I guess the best thing i can share are my views on life. I'm a bit off the wall or out of the box. I think that subconciously I chose to believe in whatever everyone else doesnt beleive.
I'm an avid cook, a big fan of finance and am good with synthesisers and other electronic music stuff.
