About Me

Hello!

My name is Tamara and I live in Stockholm, Sweden. By profession I'm an architect, as well as an authorized/sworn translator from English to Swedish.

My friends describe me as someone who is kind, thoughtful and has a lot of humor. Please note, just because I have lots of it, this does NOT mean it's necessarily a good sense of humor ;P I'll joke about anything and everything, in a respectful way of course!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At first I was quite skeptical... But then a friend told me she had been on so many trips with couchsurfing, and never had a bad experience. So I decided to give it a try! What better way to explore a new city or country, than with a local? :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Balkan rock bands from the 70s-80s, New Wave, progressive rock, jazz, instrumental etc.

I also like Éric Rohmer, Bela Tarr, Emir Kusturica

For literature I enjoy novels about love, and vivid depictions of cities I've visited. Can recommend Maken by Gun-Britt Sundström – it was translated into English recently.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had a bad phobia of needles, but then one day I decided to become a blood donor. The craziest but still one of the best things I've done. I thought that I was going to die, but the nurses were so sweet and I had such a happiness rush that I'm about to do it for the 11th time :)
