About Me

One of my absolute favorite things about travel is meeting locals, and getting to know them and share experiences or beautiful moments on the road. I’m moderately skeptical but still openminded. I like trusting people, and I don’t want to lose that or become suspicious or bitter. I like being open.
I moved to Arizona in the summer of 2014 from Bangkok, Thailand. I lived in Thailand for two years teaching technology, English and Science at one of the top 10 international schools. Originally, I'm from Northwest Arkansas, and people tell me they like my southern accent. I can speak Spanish and Thai well enough to carry on a conversation. Places where I'd like to travel next include a drive up the Pacific Coastal Highway to Washington, all over Arizona, Maui- driving the road to Hana & Kauai in Hawaii, Italy, Spain, Portugal, especially Algarve, Greece, Morroco, Copenhagen, Turkey, Germany, Brazil, Peru, Sri Lanka, Phillipines, New Zealand, Australia, and all the French Polynesian islands.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love live music, books about travel and architecture, magazines about home decorating, and watch comedies and action movies

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Drove all over Bali and almost got stuck at the top of a mountain when the road became almost invisible and my youth spent off-roading came in real handy! Just when I thought I would be stuck there because I was almost out of gas I spotted a light where some locals were outside. They let me use their bathroom which was a hole in the concrete style outhouse, although since I'd been living in Thailand and used to squat toilets that was not so surprising. What got me was seeing they had clear gasoline in Absolute vodka bottles! After fueling up the teenage boy drove the rest of the rough terrain for me so I could finally calm down while the mother followed us on a dirt bike!! I'm forever grateful to them!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I've traveled all over SE Asia, 12 countries, and can offer various tips on activities, where to stay, eat and the best ways to get around.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Currently in the process of moving. I'm an excellent cook and conversationalist! When I'm not working or traveling, I like to listen to live music, play cards, drink wine and play fetch with my dog.
