I am a retired Medical Assistant from the USA. I met my boyfriend, Ruben, hiking the Camino Santiago Trail across Spain in May 2023. We have had a long distance relationship the last two years and now I have moved to Tilburg, Netherlands to live with him. We love to travel, bicycle, hike, climb mountains, and explore the path less traveled; that's how we met.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Ruben and I love to travel and hope to visit many new Countries throughout the next year and thought joining the Couch surfing community would be a great way to do that. We would love to host others in our home in Tilburg, Netherlands also.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like pop, top 40, rock music, mostly from the 80's. I also enjoy 60's, 70's and 90's music, but the 80's is my favorite. I saw Bryan Adams in 1985 in Michigan and I just saw him again in Concert here in Tilburg! I like Romantic Comedy, Drama, Thrillers for movies and the Classics. Books - Historical Fiction, Fantasy, Adventure and travel books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacked across Europe May - July 2023. I hiked The Camino de Santiago- the French Way and the Walkers Haute Route from Chamonix France to Zermatt Switzerland - it was Amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have organized and led hikes for the Grand Traverse Hiking Club on the North Country Trail in Northern Michigan and I have been a bicycle ride leader for the Cherry Capital Cycle Club in Traverse City Michigan. I have also volunteered with the Norte Youth Cycling group in Traverse City Michigan; helping young kids on bikes and lead rides for them. I also belong to the 50 States Highpointing Club in the USA. I love climbing mountains; Mt Whitney, CA; Mt Elbert, CO; Ben Nevis, UK, just to name a few. Machu Picchu is on my list!
My partner, Ruben, speaks six languages; Dutch, English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese - so he can share a lot......

What I Can Share with Hosts

We (myself and Ruben) can share with hosts all the amazing places that we have visited and we can have good conversation. I hope to gain some knowledge from each host and Country that we visit. We can also host people in our home in Tilburg Netherlands and show you around.
