ABOUT ME

Hello! :) I am 34, grew up in California, and am now living in Seattle. Like most people, I am a compilation of contradictions. While I am a softer person who values self-reflection and thoughtfulness, I would describe myself as an extrovert because I tend to thrive off interpersonal interaction and meeting new people.

I have spent the last handful of years absorbed by the beauty of my work. While I love my work, I am needing a moment to reconnect with myself and the adventure of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted a handful of people, but most of my experience with couchsurfing has been on the other end and being so graciously welcomed into people's homes around the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I lived in co-ops who have hosted numerous couchsurfers. I appreciated the experience because it exposed me to different types of people who were exceptionally kind, cheerful, and interested in new experiences. Many of these experiences ended with long conversations and spontaneous dance parties in our kitchen late at night.

In my 20s, I spent a few months traveling around Europe and was lucky to experience the other end of couchsurfing. To be both respectful to my hosts' privacy and space, while inviting them to join me on my adventures. I was lucky to find a few exceptional people who invited me into their lives and became dear friends. I am hoping to find similar people who are wiling to invite me into their lives for a little pocket in time and share with me their local experiences.

Interests

Live music, gaining a better understanding of local histories and cultures, whisky, craft beer, and sharing simple smiles with strangers walking down the street.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A couple years ago, I was biking through the incredible bicycle roads just north of Amsterdam. I smiled and waved to a farmer on a tractor as I biked past. We quickly waved me over and asked me if I wanted to ride his tractor. Without a moment passing or a giggle forming, I quickly said YES! We spent the next hour joking as he taught me how to drive manual. I had been trying to learn for year and never would have imagined my first time would be on a tractor.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am curious to learn more about what people in different places in the world expect out of their lives, what questions they tend to ask and what brings them joy. I am also itching to learn more about local histories and different ways people live their lives.
