ABOUT ME
I'm a university student in the U.S. spending the summer traveling after an exchange program in Istanbul. Just starting out with couchsurfing, but I'm looking to meet new people and explore.
PHILOSOPHY
To steal from Carl Sagan:
"Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now I can only surf because I don't have a place of my own, but I'm excited to host someday!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Just getting started with couchsurfing, but I'm very excited to see what happens
Interests
I love hiking, camping and just generally being outdoors. I live in the flat Midwestern U.S., so I grab any chance I have to hike mountains and experience different climates. My goal someday is to climb Kilimanjaro. I also love cities though, and my favorite way to explore them is by biking.
I spend a lot of time cooking and searching for new recipes. I'm a vegetarian and I love trying new food. This summer I'm spending a month living on farms in Turkey to try to experience a completely different kind of life.

Music, Movies, and Books
The movies I find myself watching over and over are Amelie, Zoolander, Chocolat, Easy A and Young Frankenstein. Some of my favorite books are Galapagos, Cat's Cradle, The Handmaid's Tale, Cloud Atlas, Atonement.
Music changes daily but right now I'm listening to a lot of Atmosphere, the Avett Brothers, Vampire Weekend and Tegan and Sara
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the coolest moments of my life happened when I was hiking in Georgia. We went up to a mountaintop monastery at dawn, in the middle of a snowstorm. We had to take shelter inside the monastery where the monks were doing their morning prayers. Very surreal!
