About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am a newbie here, I'd like to try both side, being a host some times and being the guest at other times.

ABOUT ME

I am a scientist working in a molecular biology lab, but I also and outdoor person in my free time.
I am a competitive rower, I am racing in single, double and quadruple rowing shells, anything short sprints to Marathon distances and beyond. I am on the lake every morning for an hour or two. It is beautiful out there.

When the lakes are frozen I go cross country skiing instead.

I love traveling, seeing different lands, experiencing different cultures, taste different foods, and scuba dive in different waters.

PHILOSOPHY

"It is better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness."

"When one rows, it is not the rowing which moves the ship. Rowing is only a magical ceremony by means of which, one compels a demon to move the ship."

Music, Movies, and Books

Mostly from the 60's 70', mostly by Hungarian authors, artists.

But also Gerald Durrel, Jack L. Chalker...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I rowed an 84 kilometers (52 miles) race on the Danube when I was 17, we rowed over 11 hours... at age 50 I rowed the same race again, this time in 8 hours.

I dived the sunken ship Yangala at night in strong current. The corals were like yellow flowers in the wind, and the rays like silent ghost floating above.

I jumped out of an airplane at 11000 feet.

I have been on Death Row eight times.
Death Row is a regatta, a rowing competition, 17 miles uptream (and sometimes upwind) the Saint Louis River in Duluth, Mn.

Teach, Learn, Share
