I have recently finished my marketing honours degree at the University of Cape Town and have decided to take a year off travelling. I like to think of myself as more of a traveler than a tourist. I have always dreamed of exploring other countries and getting immersed in the culture and day-to-day happenings of other counties.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As part of my gap year I am embarking on a 5 month adventure through Europe. Joining me for part of this journey is my partner in crime, my gorgeous cousin from Australia. And whilst on our trip we are looking for places to stay and people to meet :)

Interests

I have a passion for cooking and love experimenting in the kitchen with different textures, methods and flavours. I love wine. I enjoy days curled up with a cup of tea and a good book. I otherwise live quite an active lifestyle and go hiking and surfing whenever I can. I'm a sucker for beautiful sunsets. I have an undying desire to travel and explore every inch of the world. I love meeting new people and sharing life stories.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music. In almost every shape and form. If I had to pick a favourite genre it would probably be indie rock, and my favourite artist or band would probably be Milky Chance or Lana Del Ray. I love romcoms, thrillers, and action movies. But most of all I love movies that take you on a journey, that make you think, that challenge you. Books are my little escape. I enjoy medical/crime thrillers, my favourite authoress is Tess Gerritsen. I also enjoy romantic novels by Nicholas Sparks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swam with Sharks in Malaysia and swam with Dolphins in New Zealand. Definitely the most incredible experiences I have had to date.

I'm sure there are many things I have learnt and experienced over the years that I can share with fellow travelers. I am also eager to learn as much as possible about different cultures and countries and anything else really.
