About Me

ABOUT ME

I've been living in Los Angeles for the last six years working in the film industry. My best friend and I are traveling around the US and Europe this summer (2015). I'm hoping to start a new career working for a non-profit or NGO after my travels.

PHILOSOPHY

"You've got to take what you can, when you can, while you can." Life is all about seizing opportunities that either present themselves or that you seek out. Don't let moments pass you by.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I grew up with a very open door policy. My family has travelled extensively and also welcomed many visitors, new and old, to our home over the years. I've travelled to several places around the world and met similar hospitality so I have decided to keep this spirit alive.

Interests

I suppose the mere fact that I am a CS member implies an interest in travel. I try to keep up with current events and politics as much as possible, but I also enjoy laughing with my friends, listening to music, sharing a bottle of wine, or exploring new bars and restaurants.

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently reading a collection of reviews and essays by the rock n roll critic Lester Bangs. Just finished a Bill Bryson book about the fun and adventurous American culture and life in 1927.

I typically prefer old rock n roll and blues but I have a fairly eclectic taste in music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently quit a vary stable career path in the film industry to travel and challenge myself to start a new career seeking to dedicate my time and energy to helping those in need, either victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, or young women gaining access to education.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Peru, Spain
