Overview
About Me
I came to Europe right after Hurricane Sandy, and ended up moving to Berlin in 2013. I prefer being in control of my own transportation when I travel (ie traveling by foot, bike or car) and like to either camp or work in exchange for room and board. Lately I've been climbing in Turkey a lot, which means lugging around a rope and a couple dozen draws everywhere I go.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We hosted couchsurfers (without the use of the website) at our house in Oregon while I was an undergrad student. I also couch surfed in Argentina in 2008. In Morocco, people have invited us into their homes and been incredibly hospitable. In my last few trips, I've turned to warmshowers.org to find hosts.
Interests
I am a climber, I also do a lot of reading, writing, and eating... lots of eating. My research interests are in language policy and immigration.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
El Bolson in northern Patagonia looks exactly like Southern Oregon - awestruck might be stretching it though.
Teach, Learn, Share
Climbing and slacklining. I can help with English, Spanish, or German as well. I can cook a mean curry and all sorts of strange foods. I'm also happy to eat any leftovers you want to get rid of!
