Über mich
Hi!
We are a couple of Kiwis on a world cycle tour from London to Auckland, New Zealand. We left London at the end of May 2017 and are aiming to arrive in New Zealand by Christmas 2018! Over the 18 months journey we plan to travel through central and southern Europe, the middle East, Asia and Australasia.
We have fully loaded touring bicycles with everything we need including a tent and cooker. Our favourite things to do are learning about new cultures, trying new food, exploring and meeting people around the world.
Anneke and I are both from New Zealand and have been living in London for 6 years now - we both love to travel, eat, drink tea and coffee, have a casual drink and of course cycle!
If you have space available to host us and a safe place to store our bikes we would love to stay with you and hear your stories. We have a small tent so even if its just a patch of grass in your backyard to pitch we would be very happy. We are quite social people and will interact with you how you prefer.
We look forward to hearing from you!

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
We are on Couchsurfing as a way to meet people from the local areas we travel through. We would love to sit and chat over a beer or glass of wine. We would also be interested in going out and exploring your town and meeting your friends if this is possible.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Terminator 2 is my favourite movie, I have seen it over 100 times! Anneke has a passion for everything related to dancing. We are open to all types of music and love to go to live gigs and shows.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
The best experience on our trip so far has been cycling over the Swiss Alps. It took us 2 days to cross the Gotthard Pass which is 2100 meters above sea level. The cycling was very tough and the road had lots of road works so was very narrow with lots of traffic making for a very challenging cycling. We spent the night about 700 meters below the pass, surrounded by beautiful rugged mountains and were put to sleep by the sweet chiming of cows bells on he hills all around us. The following day, at the top the views were spectacular and the decent down the other side was incredible. The initial section was on a historic cobblestone road stretching down the mountain with many switchbacks and tight u-turns. This lasted for around 30kms, we have many photos and videos to share!
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
We love to chat about adventures and cultures. We are also pretty good cooks so can put together a nice meal. We have traveled pretty extensively throughout Europe, Australasia and parts of South America and Africa so can offer some good advice. I'm pretty handy at fixing things so I'm happy to help if I'm able.
