About Me

This is my first solo trip out of my comfort zone. It started as a 3 month trip around Europe and since then, it has been extended 1 more month because I'm having such an amazing life changing, motivating, soul shaping experience, a lot of fun and of course learning and seeing things and places I never knew even existed. I enjoy meeting people from all over the world, learning about other cultures, trying new foods, exchanging chats and stories, especially folk tales! I have met so many people and made amazing new friendships and I hope to build many more. Also looking forward to return home and host some travelers in my place because I know sharing their experience will continue to take me all over the world even from home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because I would like an opportunity to meet new people and spend some time living with the locals and at the same time teach one another about our culture, language, etc. I can honestly say that so far, I've had the best experiences on couchurfing or even accidental/unexpected couch surfing. I also do not have a lot of resources and could use the help. I can definitely help with any chores, cooking and help to buy food or anything else needed during my stay.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all types of music but my favorite band of all time: The Doors. I also like electronic, house, hip hop. When it comes to books, just finished Meditations by Marcus Aurelius (thanx to a friend for the life changing suggestion to read it, it has become my survival guide), Phaedo of Plato and currently re-reading The Apology also by Plato, attempting to understand the teachings of Ghandi and randomly picking up some Epictetus to help me stay calm, cheerful and to remind me to keep on living and loving life! My favorite movie is Edward Scissorhands. Another few favorites: Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, volver, into the wild, the science of sleep, frida, voces inocentes and of course warm bodies :p

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think so far, finally making this backpacking trip has been the best experience I have allowed myself to have.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn, that's all. Forever. Traveling and going out of my comfort zone has taught me many thigs but maily that I do not know a thing about anything which is great because that means I have so much to learn! History, cooking, language, traditions, you name it! I want to hear it all. I want to understand other cultures, share my philosophy of life and listen to the ideas of others. I like having in depth conversations about everything and nothing, I like to hear different perspectives and their reasons!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help with cleaning, cooking(not a great cook but learning & I'm a great cutter! :p), buying groceries. I also love animals so I can help to take care of pets and walk them. I can help with learning English or Spanish as I am fluent in both. I was not born in Chicago but grew up there I can help with any questions you might have about the life in the US. I was born in Mexico and can also help with any questions about my culture!

Countries I’ve Visited
