About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Live to love and love to give.
ABOUT ME
Fun loving, adventurous, bubbly, relaxed, kind-hearted and easily excitable. Good food makes me very very happy, and traveling and meeting interesting people keeps me sane. I'm a kid person, a cat person, a cheese and wine person and a language person. And mess does not make me feel good inside. Call me a neat freak, and you would be right (just ask my boyfriend).
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in God and my faith is important to me. I believe that every person has something unique to give to the world that only they can give.
Life is meant to be enjoyed - so I want to learn and do as much as I can, and give just as much as I get. Although, I am slowly learning that truly living is not just about getting and learning. Truly living is all about what you can give to others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm a couchsurfing newbie! After backpacking my way through Europe in 2011 and staying in countless hostels, I encountered loads of travelers who told me about their awesome couchsurfing experiences. So, after a good amount of hesitating, I decided that I wouldn't be one to miss out on exciting adventures. Here I am now, testing out the couchsurfing waters! Plus, my days of being surrounded by drunken 18 year olds who have vomited on themselves (and/or those around them) in cheap and nasty hostels are over. Not so much my scene. So a heads up, if you are a drunken 18 year old covered in vomit, that's cool, but you probably won't really dig mostly sober me and my clean, un-vomited on clothes.
Interests
There is quite simply not enough space in this small white box to fit all the things that inspire me and the things that I love to do! I LOVE all things music. I love to sing, and I love listening to people sing. I love jazz, soul, gospel, pop, merengue, salsa, musical theatre, rock, folk... the list goes on! My boyfriend and I are musical souls (he plays the guitar like a rockstar), and we can often be found jamming it out to old school tunes like a pair of demented elderly people reliving the good old days. I'm pretty obsessed with travelling and discovering new cultures. I'm definitely obsessed with languages and accents. I would consider myself a 'foodie', who loves to eat, cook, and always try new foods. I enjoy exercising and outdoorsy activities and am insanely addicted to chocolate. I don't really like winter or the cold, but I do love beanies, especially the kind with pom poms ontop. I would quite happily follow summer around the world every year for the rest of my life if I could.
I'm quite a social person and I like to meet new people. I love having adventures, laughing until my cheeks hurt and having fun. But I also appreciate the simpler, often less appreciated things in life. Pretty flowers, reading a good book in the sun, family time, and spending as much time with my four beautiful nieces as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: India Arie, Adele, Daniel Merriweather, Earth Wind and Fire, Ed Sheeran, Matt Corby, Emeli Sande, Gavin De Graw, Ella Fitzgerald, Israel Houghton, John Legend, Maroon 5, Nat King Cole, Kirk Franklin, The Sound of Music Soundtrack (don't judge me!), Lauryn Hill, Take 6.... Really, anything that's not death metal.
Movies: Chick flicks, comedies, dramas, foreign films, musicals, 90's sitcoms, period movies. The occasional exciting action movie. I keep the horror and vampire movies in the same basket as the death metal music. Far, far away.
Books: Autobiographies, cookbooks (seriously...), travelling books (even the old atlas!). I have a short attention span when it comes to books, so they need to be witty, intriguing or ridiculously short to keep me interested beyond chapter 2.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As gross as this may be (sorry to all of those with a weak stomach!), seeing a baby delivered for the first time all those years ago as a nursing student. New life really is a miracle.
Visiting a WWII concentration camp in Germany. A very eye-opening, thought provoking, life re-evaluating experience!
The opening scenes of La Tomatina tomato throwing festival in Bunol, Spain. I can't even begin to explain the exhileration and absolute craziness that unfolded. It was by far one of the coolest festivals I've ever been to!!
The sun rise over Macchu Picchu in Peru after 4 days of hiking and camping in the Andes.
Volunteering in a Peruvian home for sick and disadvangaged children. I never ever have real cause to complain.
Countries I’ve Visited
Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, Viet Nam
