I run a dog rescue at the moment and I love it. I will be in Paris with a friend from 1 to 5th of March and would love to get to know people and grab a drink in some cool local (not too touristy) bars.

Would buy you a beer, and not the cheap one.

I've traveled around Europe and a bit in USA with couchsurfing and I loved it. I had some great experiences and maybe some awkward but it was fun in any case.
