About Me

I'm a third year art degree student, living on the edge of London with my girlfriend, my best friend and our kitten Immie. I'm a lesbian and I have a preference for vegetarian food, although I'm willing to try new foods! I've recently discovered a passion for travelling and want to meet more people and make friends around the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to go interrailing after I finish my degree and thought that Couchsurfing would be a really cool way of doing this because I want to learn more about people and cultures, not just do touristy things.

Interests

Cooking, food, art, travelling, reading, origami, learning languages.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love most types of music except Screamo. My favourites at the moment are Muse and Heather Peace. I love chick flicks! My favourite films are Eat, Pray, Love (massive travelling, food and language inspiration for me) and Notting Hill. Book wise - where do I start? I will read ANYTHING. I love immersing myself in new worlds. I'm currently really into Jodi Picoult books ^_^

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On my last holiday I did a lot of research and found the only okonomiyaki place in Amsterdam. We turned up and managed to convince the chef to let us sit and chat with him while he was cooking. Our food took a few hours to get because there was only one chef and he could only cook 6/8 at a time because his cooking space was so limited but it was amazing to have him explaining the differences in the foods and watching him make them and answer our questions. I think it helped that another couple from Barcelona sat next to us and had a conversation with us - the unusual food experience plus making friends with people from other countries = the best experience of the holiday.

Teach, Learn, Share

In my house we're all obsessed with learning languages. I'm self-teaching French, German and Spanish, my girlfriend is learning Japanese and Korean and our friend is fluent in German and is learning ridiculous amounts of languages. I'd love to share this with other people. I'm a good cook and can cook a wide variety of things from cake to sushi to vegan food, which I'd also be willing to share. I'd love to learn to play guitar too.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Language skills, cooking knowledge, a love for local cuisine, art knowledge, origami skills, cleaning and lots of random chats.
