About Me

raised in upstate NY, but living in Austin, TX for the last four years.

an introvert who enjoys new experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

traveling for a month through western Turkey, some of the Greek Islands, and a possible stop in Venice for the biannale. i've shared my space in austin with so many friends and its been a real pleasure sharing my favorite places with them as a host. i love the idea of staying in a locals home rather than renting some hotel filled with other tourists.

Interests

FOOD! making it, sharing it, reading about it, and eating it! it can be from a nameless trailer in a parking lot or after waiting three hours in line for the most highly rated new local restaurant, what I am most excited about is food that's GOOD!! often an authenticity regarding tradition, ingredients, location, etc plays into that quality.

DESIGN AESTHETICS! i have a love and appreciation for art, the handmade, and all things vintage or old. i believe history is told best (or perhaps most interestingly) within the context of its cultural aesthetics: the art, the architecture, the textiles, the crafts, the food (there it is again!), the clothing, and everything in between.

i'm also a big fan of the weird or unusual.

i've been practicing yoga at least twice a week for the last 7 months and i am hoping to continue this while mindfulness traveling in whatever capacity possible.
