Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm really wanting to explore cities/countries in between volunteer experiences that I've set up, I'd love to meet local like-minded folks and see the city from a locals perspective!

Interests

Travel is a given here, right? I have a niece, whom I am very interested in, a dog- Dorothy, whom I am crazy about, I love grabbing happy hour at pubs, hiking, art, music....I'm really interested in making the most out of my time on this earth, taking in every possible interesting experience I possibly can.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Head and The Heart, the Avett Brothers, Catfish and the Bottlemen are a new favorite...Death Cab is an old favorites, Otis Redding is my throwback go-to. I can appreciate music in most forms as long as it's got a nice beat and I am a sucker for an acoustic guitar.

My favorite movie, since I was a child, The Labryinth...it makes me a little crazy that it's got such a cult following now, since for so long it was MY movie ;) I love Away we Go, Lars and the Real Girl, Little Miss Sunshine, Tropic Thunder, Step Brothers, The Wizard of Oz....big variety.

Books, I tend to gravitate toward funny books, I read Amy Poehlers "Yes, Please" recently and loved it. The Help is probably my favorite, or Warm Bodies, Water for Elephants.... I love books that show humanity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, my experiences thus far have been pretty mediocre. One amazing thing I am doing, is quitting my very adult job, and traveling Europe solo for a year. I live alone, so I have no issues being by myself, but I have never been away from everyone I love for so long. I feel that my journey for self discovery has been put off long enough, and now is the time to seize this wild opportunity.

If you're looking for more of an experience....I swam with enormous wild sea turtles in mexico...
