About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Let's go!

ABOUT ME

I like working with kids because I remember what it was it was like to be one. Pure intentions, curiosity, a lot of love...and all the little things, like having a special box to put special things in! The way certain things smell or feel, like my mom's terry cloth robe. Playing make believe EVERYWHERE along the way! Following your gutt. Caring for the elderly. Stopping to listen to a busker playing beautiful music. Loving a tree...yes, one in particular.:) Life is precious, and made up of all the little things you do and love along the way. I never intend on growing out of that.:o)

PHILOSOPHY

Be young, Inhabit brief periods of time with extreme passion. There are more truths in twenty-four hours of a man's life than in all the philosophies. -Raoul Vaneigem, writer and philosopher (b.1934)A vocation is not a destination; it is a path through which to fulfill our destinies. We learn to model the change we seek in the world by being the change ourselves.Barbara Marx Hubbard

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

CS for me gives me a little sense that I'm traveling even when I'm not! You know those amazing, random encounters you have while traveling the world...passionate people, conversations...there's a different energy about someone who is traveling. So I feel lucky to have those wonderful people invited into my home- with that magic traveling energy! I can't stand the cold requests though...the ones that sound like the surfer should be booking a hotel room.

Interests

I like those feelings you can´t fake...how i felt right before scuba diving for the first time. I like airports. It´s that exciting feeling of not knowing exactly what to expect but knowing it´s going to be good!I looove food! And pairing a delicious meal with the perfect wine and company! "I want to get physical...physical!" haha no, not Like Olivia Newton-John...but getting out there makes me happy! Biking, skiing, swimming, hiking, hiding, seeking, dancing...it's play, it's fun, and it feels good!Ridiculous 80s music videos (this one's new, after watching "I want to get physical") :oP

Music, Movies, and Books

Ayn Rand - Atlas Shrugged, Carl Jung - memories, dreams, reflections, Waking Life, Life of Brian, Broken Social Scene, TV on the radio, Bill Withers, flight of the concords, Blossom Dearie, Feist, Kahlil Gibran, Bloc Party, The Verve, Diana Krall, my Dad. I love mix cds made by friends. It's hard to say...music that makes me happy, makes me want to dance, sing along, or dream to...I love so much! I'm working on knowing the names of the artists I love!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Run/slide/walk/stand/lie on the frozen "ocean" off the northern coast of Prince-Edward Island. My friend Lauren and I were expecting a very cold beach...but to come over the red sand dunes and find it frozen in place ...the sun setting opposite from the moon rising...it's hard to find words to describe how we felt at that moment.:)Punch/kick/run from a scary taxi driver in Rome, and the cops he was trying to get to arrest me!

Teach, Learn, Share

Words hold so much meaning. "Should" should be replaced by "could". "Should" can be replaced by "could". So different, right? :) "Hope" is one I've grown tired of. It is so often used to replace action...We all "hope you're doing well"! Why don't we all hope for greater things and just ask each other "how ya doing?" :o)I'd love to learn how to surf (proper), snowboard, and do all those fancy lady tango tricks. Learn a new language, or 2...or 3. :)
