About me!!

My name is Tariq (or Taz because it's easier) and I am a 23 yo, wide-eyed, Aussie kid looking to soak up as much of this beautiful planet as I can, whenever I can!!

I was born in Sydney, Australia and have lived there my whole life. It's a beautiful, dynamic city with no shortage of things to see or do and I couldn't recommend it more!

I recently worked 4 years of long hours in Sports Television (Virtual marketing to be specific and boring) and am taking a 5 month holiday in between jobs to explore the Blue Marble.

My friend said Couch Surfing is something I would really enjoy so I am trying it out!

I love to meet locals in the cities I travel to!!

Interests

I love cooking for people (pasta is my favourite), learning how to make new dishes and learning new techniques. P.S. I never said I was a good cook ;)

I love watching films and am guilty of sometimes rotating my favourites over and over again. Some of my favourites: Shutter Island, Good Fellas, I Love You Man, American History X, Cast Away.

I enjoy any type of physical activity/sport but mostly play soccer, basketball or rugby (whatever street game I can find going on while I'm travelling).

When I'm at home I always have at least 3 fish tanks set up! Ive kept and bred all types of fish and other marine critters. The largest tank I've owned was 5 ft long and housed 2 Oscar fish that were bigger than my hand!

And of course I love socialising! Whether it be at a beach, at a mountain lookout, bar or dinner table with good food and good beer/wine I am always keen for a chat.
