Hey there,
We are Tash (Natasha) and Huy. I have been using CouchSurfing since my gap year in 2018 - now I will be doing another gap year(s) cycling from Asia to Europe with my partner, Huy!

More about Tash:
I am always enthusiastic, excited and curious...growing up in many places, I have a passion for learning different cultures and languages. I am an Ecologist with a passion for working on the intersection of Planet + People. I studied the Bornean elephants in Borneo (Malaysia) for my Bachelor’s final year project. I’ve worked in private consulting for renewable energy projects in Australia for 2 years.

More about Huy:
I always dreamt of travelling long term, but didn't know how to do that on a low budget. Meeting Tash and learning that bikepacking was an actual thing, I quickly fell in love with the idea and here we are now planning to cycle from Asia to Europe. I worked in Aged Care as an Assistant Nurse for a couple years. Other than that I love photography, roller skating, painting miniatures and hanging out with friends.

We hope to meet and stay with people across our adventure cycling Asia to Europe 2025-28: Lestari Cycle.

We created a project for our bikepacking journey to document and share stories of People+Planet from the road. We aim to share stories of people, culture, language and wildlife as both of us enjoy doing photography and film making in our spare time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was amazed by the hospitality, kindness and time from other hosts since I started using CouchSurfing in 2018. I have had the possibility to host people across the last few years; now I hope that you will be able to host Huy and I along our Lestari journey!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

HUY - travelled around Mexico; learnt Spanish, dabbled in authentic Mexican culture and lifestyle as I had stayed with my friend's family for two months, I also squeezed in a Mexican wedding (which was super fun).

TASH - Was voted as a President for a charity club at my school in Australia called Leo's Club and then led the club to do many great things, one of my favourite activities being a Sleep out + Movie night where we raised over $550 for Domestic Violence.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach! We can share some tips for filmmaking, photography (these are our passions), but Tash can teach you some Malay if you are wanting to go to Asia soon! Maybe we can talk about science, cultures, elephants?

Learn! We love knowing where you have been and what you've done. Sharing means we can all explore different parts of the world instead of the cliché destinations. Like have you found a secret cave in Mallorca with beautiful crystal clear water! Or have you found the best cafe in Vienna? Maybe a secret undiscovered cave in the karst mountains of Vietnam? (I know where one is...)
