Hey everyone:)

My name is Tatiana, and currently I’m on an around-the-world trip with my husband. This is a dream that I’ve had for several years and now we are making it happen!

A bit more about myself - before starting the trip, I worked as a researcher at a university in Kaiserslautern, Germany. My area is linguistics, and I got my PhD in this field in summer 2024. After the PhD (and the grant money) was over, my husband and I decided to embark on our big adventure and see the world.

We stared in October 2024, and our goal is to travel for about a year. We combine doing volunteer work through Workaway and Worldpackers with regular vacation-type stays in backpackers and guesthouses. We are happy to meet new people on the way and to get to know their cultures better. So a hangout or a couchsurfing gathering are ideal options for us!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting people, listening to their stories and learning from them. No tourist place will tell me about people's joys and troubles, their family histories and hopes for the future. I really appreciate being accepted in the local community even for some days and bringing home something more than a ton of look-how-cool-my-vacation-was pics:)
