ABOUT ME

First of all, I'm an average person. I'm no philosopher, I don't teach economics and I haven't invented anything :-)
Anyway, I love learning about other cultures and travelling. I read up on each place I visit and try to learn in advance a number of phrases to be polite in the local language. History, linguistics, psychology and geography fascinate me but I am not as intellectual as you might imagine!
I think that it's so mind-broadening to learn about the human spectrum on this planet and getting to know others who are brought up in different cultural environments.
I try to visit at least one new country every year but have to fit it around my desk job!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have just put my toe in the water of couchsurfing as I had never heard of it until recently. I will be playing host shortly and look forward to being a guest too.

Music:
Santana, Santana and Santana. Followed by (electric) blues and rock. However, my collection contains everything from opera to Mongolian Throat Singing.

All factual stuff. There is so much to learn about!
Favourite book is 'Jupiter's Travels' by Ted Simon.

Films:
Das Leben der Anderen (The Lives of Others), Le Scaphandre et le Papillon (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly), One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Vanishing Point, Das Boot, The Odessa File, Young Frankenstein.
