Hiya!

I don't know what people are supposed to write here that doesn't sound like an overdone trope, so I'll just list the basics.
I'm pretty new to this site, but I'm very excited to start using it to its full potential. I'm a current graduate student in California studying everything I can get my hands on, but focusing on aspects of human security.

I'm originally from New Orleans which is what I'm pretty sure sparked my love affair with learning new languages and cultures and sharing stories. I like learning about people; their backgrounds and experiences why they are the way they are.

My love of traveling rivals my love of learning. I'm a night owl and, thus, am my most curious (i.e. mischievous) then. Bars with to too-long games of pool and drunken darts, long drives with copious amounts of fast food, long talks outside under the stars on trampolines, etc.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling freely and meeting new people more than I enjoy staying by myself in a new place I'm not familiar with.

Interests

I'm obsessed with black coffee at all hours of the day, sour/gummy candy, RED WINE... ok I'll talk about stuff other than food. Jamming out in cars to anything that gets my head bobbing, 80's movies and 90's R&B. Hiking in the mountains, the smell of pre-rain weather, windy days....

I was kidnapped by fake cops in Bangkok, swam with sea turtles in Indonesia, saw a sunrise in Hong Kong that looked like the mountains were breathing fire.... There's more if we get to meet up and have a few drinks 😊
