Overview
About Me
My name is Taylor Tomasso, I am 20 years old, and currently studying International Affairs and Cultural Anthropology at Northeastern University in Boston. I love to travel and have explored all over the world. I am not exactly sure what I want in the future, but I am certain that it will involve adventure and travel. I speak Spanish and English fluently and have lived abroad in 5 different countries.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have been Couchsurfing before when I was in Germany with another friend and I absolutely loved it. It was an amazing way to meet the locals, find the best spots to explore, and get immersed in the culture. I love the idea of returning the favor for someone else (although no one has come to stay with me yet), and I am currently living in Boston for anyone who would like to visit. I have met amazing people and had unforgettable experiences through Couchsurfing, and I think it is the best way to travel!
Interests
Obviously travel is my number one interest. I am always trying to decide on where to go next. Besides that, I love hiking, reading, getting lost in cities, running, going to the beach, or just spending time with friends and family, and meeting new people. I love trying anything new and I am always up for an adventure!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love a lot of different type of music (electronic, reggaeton, reggae, hip-hop/rap) and I have music in a lot of different languages thanks to all of my travels. Right now I am reading "1,000 Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini" and highly recommend it. I am also a huge fan of the Harry Potter series and have read it multiple times in Spanish and English. I don't watch that many movies, but my favorite tv shows are Empire, Grey's Anatomy, Modern Family, and Friends.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After graduating high school, I took a gap year and traveled around Latin America doing volunteer work and practicing my Spanish. In Costa Rica, I was teaching at a primary school and university for 4 months. Then, I moved to Peru and taught at a summer school for one month. Afterwards, my friends and I explored Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Panama, and Mexico for 2 months. It was the best experience ever! I learned about so many different cultures, made friends from all around the world, and now I have some pretty crazy stories to tell. We hiked Machu Picchu, mountain biked on the world's most dangerous road in Bolivia, did a 3 day tour of Salar de Uyuni, went island hopping in the San Blas Islands in Panama, and relaxed on the beaches of Mexico. It was truly unforgettable!
Teach, Learn, Share
I am not that good of a chef, but I am able to make a traditional meal from Costa Rica called "Gallo Pinto". It's mostly rice, beans, onion, garlic, cilantro, and hot sauce is optional. Ticos eat it everyday and it's usually served with fried eggs, avocado, or some type of fruit. It's incredibly delicious and would love to make it for you (as it is also one of the few things I can actually make well)! I love to learn about the places that I travel, the history, music, language, places to see, and the people that I am staying with.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have lived with various host families and couchsurfed before, and I feel that I am a respectful, clean, polite, but also fun houseguest. I have a lot of travel stories from the different places I have lived, and I know how to play a lot of card games!
