Hi, I'm Taylor!

I currently live in Austin, TX, and run a social media marketing company, mostly focused in the music industry. The short of it: I work with managers and independent artists to build and execute social media plans for album releases, tours, etc.

I moved to Austin from LA (and moved to LA from Nashville), so if you're into music, I love to talk about it :)

I typically use Airbnb/Couchsurfing when I travel with my mom, so I feel like I should include a little about her as well. She honestly may be the coolest mom on the planet. I will literally always choose her as a travel companion over anybody else. She owns and operates a restaurant right outside of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Loves Taylor Swift. Makes really tasty pies that we are actually in the process of turning into DIY Pie Subscription Boxes, which should be pretty cool. & Is just an overall fun time.

We like to avoid touristy areas and landmarks, unless they're really cool, so Airbnb is a great way for us to meet locals in the area and get the low down of what to do, where to eat, etc.

Since I do all of my work from a computer, I travel as much as I can.. but somehow, it usually ends up around some sort of concert or music festival :)

I've also recently started a blog (or sorts) that focuses on highlighting all the really cool restaurants, bars, artisans, etc. of Austin that you typically don't see pop up on the top, trendy lists from the big publications. September will mark the first month of building content around other cities as sort of an "Easy Getaways" segment of the editorial platform. So, I'm very excited about that!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to be around locals whenever I travel, so platforms like Couchsurfing are great to meet people and find the best spots to eat, drink, see whenever I'm in a new town!

Music, Movies, and Books

Since I work in the music industry, I listen to a little bit of everything. My preferences lean pop (Ellie Goulding, Lorde), but I definitely appreciate other genres.

Not a huge movie fan. One is more likely to be on in the background.

I usually prefer articles to books. Being a millennial (or at least that's what I like to blame), I just don't have the patience to sit down with a fiction novel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learning to scuba dive in Utila, Honduras, is definitely one of the coolest things I've done in 2018.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a little about a lot of things (great tasting tequilas, different ways to make coffee, the best bbq in Austin), but I know quite a lot about music. Happy to provide recommendations :)

If my mom is traveling with me, she's a phenomenal cook! I used to drive 6 hours home when I lived in Nashville for her cooking. We actually like bringing packets of her restaurant seasoning to give to new friends on our travels.
