About Me

ABOUT ME

If there are two things that consume my life, it's food and language. I am studying agriculture, Spanish, and Portuguese and I want to master these three areas of expertise. I love to garden and cook vegetarian meals and I work for a composting operation to divert food waste from landfills and make it into compost to sell. I love reading, napping, riding my bike, and running too. I would love to advance my language skills while adventuring all of the beautiful little corners of the world.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in living minimally and staying positive.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live in a University dorm for now, so I can't comfortably accommodate folks, but I love showing people around Tucson, AZ. No matter where you're from, you can always appreciate the funky culture of towns like Tucson. I also am looking to adventure through Europe and eventually Latin America learning about agriculture and language.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed last summer with my twin sister to Seattle, WA. We had a blast with our host and it was a delightful location next to downtown. She was so accommodating and it was a great learning experience.

Interests

Urban and rural agriculture, sustainability, riding bicycles, rock climbing, camping, exploring neighborhoods (house architecture is so fun), running, reading, cooking, yoga, finding new restaurants, conversation, and animals.

Music, Movies, and Books

Not a huge movie person, but I love Wes Anderson films and anything with Steve Martin, Tina Fey, or Phil Hartman. I listen to most music, just not too much modern pop/rap. I like alternative folk/indie rock like Portugal. The Man, Fleet Foxes, and Young the Giant. For books, I like Don Delillo and Kurt Vonnegut.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had hard cider at midnight on the coast of Victoria, Canada over a bonfire with 6 girls I barely knew, but was staying with for the week. The weather was perfect, the people were wonderful, and the feeling of being somewhere you would have never expected is the greatest.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to teach about gardening or give a lesson in cooking vegetarian meals. I also can teach anyone to drive stick shift or any heavy machinery like a fork lift or tractor. I know an awful lot about compost, so I can build a backyard composting system. And I love to teach English or Spanish. My dream is to learn how to ride and take care of a horse.
