About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make the greatest trip of our lives!

ABOUT ME

Tereza: I am a 26 years old girl born in the Czech Republic. I had been living with my parents till I was 19. At this age I moved to Prague and started attending a college. I always loved and did many sports (athletics, cycling, skiing, tennis etc.). In 2010 I applied for Erasmus Program since I always wanted to study at the university abroad. I was accepted and got opportunity to spend 5 wonderful months in Italy. I lived in Milan and attended mostly marketing courses at the University of Luigi Bocconi in Milan. In February 2012 I passed my final exam and finished my college. Soon after I left for Chili, I found a new job and started living with my boyfriend who is Chilean. I love travelling and luckily I am sharing this passion with my boyfriend. I have already visited approx. 25 countries (among which e.g. USA, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, United Arab Emirates, Turkey and many other European countries). I am currently working as an International Account Manager in a company that provides intellectual property services. I am a careful, worried and responsible person. I have problems to accept criticism (even it is constructive) and I hate too self-confident people with no respect.

Gonzalo: I am from San Fernando, a small city 120km in the south of Santiago. I went to high school in San Fernando and when I was in Junior High I went as an Exchange Student for one year to Chicago. After I came back from the US and finished high school, I moved to Santiago to start college and became an engineer specialized in agricultural economics. While in college I went for a second exchange but this time for one semester, where got some courses in Economics and Administration in Milan, Italy. Right now I am back in Santiago and working in Agrosuper like a Key Account Manager.I am very open minded, social, outgoing and love to see new places and cultures.

Tereza and Gonzalo: We are a Czech-Chilean couple, currently living in Santiago de Chile. We met in Italy in May 2010 while studying at the same university. After we finished our courses in Milan, we separated and thought we would never see each other again, however, it seems that destiny was working for us. Since Gonzalo was working in France during the summer we chose Paris as our next meeting point. We spent amazing weekend there and then split for 5 months. After that we got together in the USA and spent Christmas and New Year's 2010 there. After another 6 months of separation we met in Chili, we were travelling together around South America and finally decided to start our common future in February 2012. Currently we are working, trying to make as much money as we can to be able to start our 1-year worldwide trip.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have created our profile on CouchSurfing.org website recently so we do not have so much experience. So far we have hosted a few couchsurfers in our apartment back in Santiago. We are currently travelling so we are not able to host anybody, however, once we are back in Chili we will intend to invite some more people who wish to stay a couple of days in Santiago. Everybody is welcome in our house!

Since we started travelling very intensively a few months ago we have been enjoying the hospitality of other people in different parts of the world. We must say it has always been a very nice experience.

Books: Anything from Dan Brown is usually a good option.

We have managed to keep our relationship alive although we were born in different continents and our homes are separated by 12 000 km of water and land.

Teach, Learn, Share

We are not able to share since we do not have any real experience at this moment. Maybe later...
