About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To understand the world.

ABOUT ME

I'm living in New York and working on my Ph.d. My advisor works with a collaborator in Barcelona every summer, so my travels for the next five years or so will probably not stray far from NYC or Barcelona, but I'm looking forward to doing whatever I can get in. I'm hoping that I can bike a few more parts of the Camino de Santiago when I visit Spain.

I don't think you can really describe someone's personality here, so...

PHILOSOPHY

I'm an empiricist.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couch surf. I have a couch that people can crash on.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've mainly surfed while on bike trips, and I've been amazed at how welcoming everybody is. Thanks hosts!

I've hosted a bit too. Everyone had been lots of fun.

Interests

I really like physics. There's a reason I spend most of my time doing it. I'm also rather interested in historical linguistics, and I love to bike, cook, and see new places.

Music, Movies, and Books

Yes Please. List them all? No.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently biked across the North coast of Spain, from San Sebastian/Donostia to Santiago de Compostela. It's a pretty darn great way to see the world, and you definitely see places that you wouldn't have thought of stopping at if you were driving through, and a great way to see some remarkably beautiful places.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Physics, a little bit of bike repair, some vegetarian cooking. I think I know enough about the details of the English language (pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary things that native speakers know but might have difficulty describing) to teach it better than the average native speaker as well.

Learn: Spanish, German, about the world in general.

Share: Adventures!

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, Canada, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Honduras, Italy, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In

Spain, United States
