About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I suppose my current mission is to find a job. Failing that, I'm enjoying my time off this summer by biking and hiking, and enjoying myself at the beach.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd like to meet other CSers in Connecticut and to crash on some couches as I drive across country to visit friends in other states.

Interests

I went on an Outward Bound trip in 2005, backpacking for a week. Since then I haven't done any backpacking, but I'm looking to get back into it. I would also like to try combining camping with kayaking or bicycling. I also enjoy all variety of card and board games, especially abstract strategy games.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Box of Moonlight, Truman Show, Majestic, Weatherman, Bourne movies, Good Will Hunting, Rounders, Stranger than Fiction, Lost in Translation, Michael Clayton, Sideways.

Books: I just finished really enjoying reading Ten Points. Lately I've been reading books about bicycling and backpacking.

Music: Rock and industrial. In my mp3 player right now: Nine Inch Nails, Diatribe, Acid Horse, Filter, Massive Attack, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, Rush, Skinny Puppy, Staind, Van Halen, Tool, and Dead Can Dance.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The backpacking trip in Utah was amazing. I faced my fear of heights and trusted that I could walk at a 45 degree or more angle up the slick-rock despite carrying a heavy backpack. It was fantastic going to sleep beneath the vast starry sky. I woke early one morning where the stars slowly faded and gave way to blue as the sun rose.
