ABOUT ME

I'm a family man -- wife and 2 kids (1 grown and out of the house), and a bunch of animals -- with a broad set of interests. I make a living as a freelance science writer these days, though I still pick up a camera now and then. Beyond that, I guess you'll have to contact me and find out what a fascinating, intellectual, loving, artistic, funny, and engaging person I am.

PHILOSOPHY

Expose myself and my family to everything I can -- experience life. Open up closed minds. Minimize our impact on the earth.

I meet people for coffee, drinks, meals, walks, ... both on my turf and theirs. Will eventually host, and hope to take advantage of others' hospitality as well.

Tons in college.

Since then just met Surfers for coffee, a drink, a meal.

Música, películas y libros

I don't get nearly as much opportunity to watch, listen, and read for pleasure as I'd like. But my latest book-loves are The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series, Oryx and Crake and sequels, and The Secret History [update: anything by Michael Chabon, Barbara Kingsolver -- even though she hasn't done much lately, ...]. Movies are too fleeting to mention. As for music, most everything -- especially latin, bluegrass, jazz, Grateful Dead, classical, Jorma, world, ...

I'd love to fill the section to the brim -- but I suppose what I find amazing may seem mundane to the likes of other Couch Surfers. (Ever see a kid being born? A cat recover from a stroke? Your kid play "high 5" with Itzak Perlman?)
