Touch one life at a time
ABOUT ME
We are a newly married couple from two opposite sides of the country, trying to make a home for ourselves, while exploring the world around us. We are both fun loving, but quirky. We are more on the quiet side, but once we get talking on a passionate subject you can't shut us up! Tim is from California, born and raised, ran a computer business for 9 years, wanted to get away from the rat race and expensive rent of the Bay area, and headed to South Carolina to pursue a new life. Things didn't quite work out the way he thought, but with the help of many new friends, and after meeting Jenn, an endearing but quirky southern gal, they set off to carve a niche for themselves in this big world.
PHILOSOPHY
Find out what you are good at that excites you, and make that part of your life. Don't ever stop learning, exploring, creating, and loving.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I participate in my community through my church group, helping with local needs. When I first moved to South Carolina, I volunteered with a soup kitchen and made many wonderful friends through that. I actively mentor young locals from the parks I meet through my break-dancing. And we both regularly help with children's ministry at another church our youth group partners with.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None yet, I (Tim) have traveled a bit around the U.S.A. by car and really appreciate the idea of couchsurfing. I have stayed in hotels (too expensive), hostels, friend's homes, and have received a strangers hospitality on more than one occasion. But most often than not I've lived out of my car on most extended travels. I (Jenn) haven't done much traveling and look forward to seeing the world!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Using the above setup, we watched microscopic bugs crawling around a scorpion corpse, super creepy, but also pretty amazing! :) I love exploring the microscopic world.
Teach, Learn, Share
With a dollar store laser pointer, a hair pin (one with ridges), and a piece of tape you can make a high powered magnifier with your smartphone camera. Open up the laser pointer and take out the focusing lens, carefully place the lens in one of the ridges of the hair pin. then tape it to your phone so that the lens is aligned with your camera's lens. Explore the world around you!
