One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 9 years old my dad sent me for three months, completely by myself, to Sri Lanka to stay with a local family that I didn't know. I didn't know the local language either and barely spoke English. I survived and was never afraid of traveling anymore.
Ten years later, a week before I was supposed to go back to Bulgaria from New York during my summer break, I overheard a random conversation in the library about a group of people going to Alaska for the summer to work. An hour later I was part of the trip too.
