About Me

Hey there everyone! I'm Teemu and I come from the ice cold Finland. I've been travelling for almost a half year now and before studied economics in Finland, got so sick of it that I had to leave it behind for good. I'm also a former tennis coach and Stand-up paddle instructor but broke my right shoulder on a silly handstand move and now taking a break from those too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

On my previous journeys I've learned that the best way to get to know to new places and cultures is to meet locals and let them show you places and give advices. Couchsurfing seems like a great place for people that could use some help to meet those who are willing to give it.

Interests

I'm into sports, especially the watery kind. I spent the last summer renting paddle boards on a small beach in Western Finland. I've been playing tennis for all my life and during the past few years coached others as well. Snowblarding, hiking, used to do bodyweight training before broke my shoulder for good. I also like arts, not that good in any but sometimes I just like to listen to music and draw, paint or take pictures of things I see and do. I used almost my whole christmas holiday for sewing present for my family which was pretty fun too!

Music, Movies, and Books

Pretty much anything goes when it comes to music, not the darkest and heaviest metal though. It's the same thing with movies, but replace heavy metal with horror.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last fall me and my 2 friends got picked up to a Red Bull race called Red Bull Can You Make It? We raced against 99 other teams around the world in Europe using Red Bull cans as our only currency. We didn't have any money nor phone or food and everything we needed we had to pay with using only Red Bull cans. My team travelled from Paris to Berlin in just 7 days, we visited 7 countries while going through the checkpoints and travelled a total of 2500km with a total of 0 money. We even got ourselves flying tickets from Frankfurt, Germany to Zurich Switzerland with only using the cans. This experience really opened my eyes and taught me that world really isn't as bad place as at least we Finns think but instead a world full of all kinds of kind and great people full of stories to share. Before this current trip the Red Bull race have been the greatest experience I've ever had.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning new things, the problem is that for some reason I've become the worst person in the world to ask for help. Usually I just try something as long as I succeed or get bored to it, at the moment doing my best with surfing. I can always teach you Tennis.

What I Can Share with Hosts
