I live in Bellingham, WA with my family, and am a mom of two daughters. I immigrated to the US when I was sixteen from Kenya, and have also lived in Egypt and Botswana, and traveled to over 20 other countries during my childhood.

I work for the Washington State Department of Ecology on water quality science studies, and am locally active in environmental and social justice issues. I love hiking, backpacking.
