CURRENT MISSION

Currently trying to find out what it is to be an American: what is this country, who are these people, and what is my connection to them. I'm going to be a ramblin' around these states for a little bit.

ABOUT ME

I'm still very much working out the details of who I am. I'm not hard pressed for a desk job right now. my immediate goals currently do not span more than a few months at a time and I am very comfortable with that. I love people and I think there is an incredible beauty in the range that we differ with each other. I love political/religious/spiritual/anything-not-comfortable conversation because i think that it reveals something profound in a person's personality and builds bonds between people in spite of their differing ideologies. i often find that this is a superior path than the more genial types of american-speak that appeal more to congeniality. I am also soft spoken and apt to observation. My mother was an artist and she instilled in me early a need to observe everything outside of myself. also, i like puppies.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i dig this new push to be grass roots and to build global communities in ways that are typical of traditional globalizing agents but which contradict, what I see, as their defunct morale. From the little that i currently know about this site and its goals, i put forth my participation in the current of a similar goal/ideology.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

none...yet. Some people have stayed at my old place but I always seemed to be gone when they were there.

兴趣

I love reading, movies, and going to museums. I play the guitar (not well) and I love talking to random people. I like spreading myself out and experiencing things that other people don't get to do.

I always go through vases with books. Right now I'm into Kurt Vonnegut, scattered with some Dostoevsky and Steinbeck. I just finished the Harry Potter series and loved it.
Movies change.
to be honest, i like indy films but i also am prone to watching an occasional 'romantic comedy'

There have been to many. the framework for all of them could be explained by an instance i had in Venezuela. I spent the day with some other travelers doing touristy stuff. at the end of the day we came across some fisherman on the beach. they were drinking rum and having a good-ol-time. they passed around the bottle and that continued for many hours. fun, new friends, and rum!
