"what if...?" is almost the most ambiguous question possible.

"what if i fall?" could mean:
(1) what would be the result if i fell?
(2) what is the likelihood that i fall?
(3) i shouldn't do that because i might fall.
(4) have you considered the possibility that i might fall?
(5) i'm likely to fall.
(6) imagine if i fell!
(7) i just fell.

ok not the last one, but anyway, i spend a lot of time making distinctions, speaking clearly, and doing real philosophy. because of that, i intentionally make some time to speak ambiguously and/or nonsensically. this may or may not be one of those times.
