Living, loving, and living some more.
I have been creating fine art photographs since 2001. I completely thrive on interactions with people. My photography almost always involves other people because there's magic that happens when communication transcends spoken words.
I'm thinking loads about what to do with myself in the near future in my career. I'm most interested in following my passion but still meeting pragmatic needs. It's a convoluted journey, but I'm very excited for what's next.
I'm very laid back but at the same time very ambitious. As well as I know myself, I learn more everyday and welcome it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love building interesting relationships and learning about new people and places. I've been incredibly sheltered to travel over the past 7 years, as my work kept me stationary and broke. Now, I'm branching out, visiting places and hopefully meeting some awesome people that love where they are and want to share it with me. When I'm able to, I can't wait to host surfers in an on-going way.
I stayed in Brooklyn for a week late last year with a friend I'd never met in person and her 3 roommates. I stayed on the couch at night and explored the city all day long. I invited housemates with me to different crazy outings, and we had a blast! Overall it was certainly one of the best experiences of my life.
music: i will travel in a 300 mile radius from my home town to see: Nico Vega, Sulfjan Stevens, Weezer, Maria Taylor, the Whispertown 2000. I shoot and manipulate photography ALL the time. I read physics and math theory books. I love history. All of the science, history, and travel channels get TiVo'ed on my set constantly.
Music, Movies, and Books
anything by chuck paluhniak, physics, glenna mcreynolds, francesca lia block. nietzsche, baudrillard, other assorted philosophy books.
movies: the darjeeling limited, the cruise, the last night, waking life, the wall, anchorman.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
'big attractions' never really interested me...but small meaningful things always do. i remember being a teenager and bussing into Canada to see Niagara Falls with a good friend. there was a specific Bob Evans and events surrounding it and Buffalo that were incredibly amazing. I'm glad I survived.
Teach, Learn, Share
In a literal way, I've taught photoshop and indesign to a young woman that wanted to support her family's spa. of course, i learned more about myself than she learned about design software. i've considered going back to school to become a physics professor. I like to talk about theoretical physics, or Seth MacFarlane.
What I Can Share with Hosts
