ABOUT ME

I'm a friendly person who loves playing music and going to concerts. I go hiking as much as possible and am loving West Virginia for this very purpose. I am a moderate environmentalist, meaning that I earn a living cleaning up rivers, but I smoke cigarettes and am not a vegetarian. (Although I respect those of you who are) I am a very easy going person who loves seeing new things, seizing every opportunity, and meeting new friends along the road of life. (Hence why I love couch surfing!)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am happy to sponsor anybody interested in staying in rural West Virginia. There is a great park closeby called Twin Falls State Park that is full of trails. I also travel a lot to conferences for work and prefer to couch surf instead of getting a hotel room to meet new friends and explore new areas in the way that only a resident knows.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been couch surfing since High School, but didn't realize there was a website for it! My first couch surfing experience in Berea was a wonderful one and I have refered some of my friends to the site since. It's a great way to meet interesting people and get a real feel for the area you're staying at instead of just seeing the same pictures in the same hotels in a different city.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sitting at a table in a cafe off of Champs Elysse in France when France won the World Cup at home in '98. Watching the fireworks going off in Coventry Vermont as Phish finished their final concert. Bungie jumping during spring break in Florida. Kayaking the ocean around Vancouver Island in British Columbia. Repelling down a waterfall on a military base in Argentina. Completing a mile long series of canopy level zip lines through the rain forest. Swimming in the Mediterranean at a beach in Nice, France. Couch Surfing in an eco-house in Kentucky.

Teach, Learn, Share

2/3 of the people in my watershed have no form of household wastewater treatment. That means that all of the sewage and grey water from their homes is dumped directly into the rivers untreated. Virtually nobody realizes that this still happens today in our country.
