"This is the real secret of life — to be completely engaged with what you are doing in the here and now. And instead of calling it work, realize it is play."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Have hosted a few lovely, amazing couchsurfers in the past and have couchsurfed myself once, several years ago in Iceland. I am soon embarking on a great adventure across the US with a friend, and we hope to utilize many couches along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books
There is so much music I could list... but some of my favorite artists right now are:
Big Thief, Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom, Michael Hurley, Tallest Man on Earth, The Velvet Underground, Angel Olsen, Anais Mitchell, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Lake Street Dive, Mountain Man, Y La Bamba, Diggable Planets, Pinegrove, Vulfpeck, Foghorn Stringband, The Uncluded, Lomelda, Florist, Frankie Cosmos.
However, I can find music that I like in almost any genre, and I love hearing new stuff... especially if it's a little weird.
Movies: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, all Wes Anderson films, and all Studio Ghibli films.
Books: Braiding Sweetgrass, Women Who Run With the Wolves, The Body Keeps the Score, Belonging: Remembering Ourselves Home, Ishmael, Zorba the Greek, Elegance of the Hedgehog, Siddhartha, The Tao of Pooh, The Ethical Slut
Anything by David Abram, Bill Plotkin, Joanna Macy (eco-psychology writers)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Witness 30-40 turtles emerge from the ocean to lay eggs during a full moon in a secluded section of Lepe'uli, my favorite nude beach in Kaua'i.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: Ayurveda (I have actually studied this in college, didn't just read an article about it), farming/compost/soil science, very basics of some music stuff (theory, ukulele, guitar),
Learn: Partner dancing, music (particularly feel the NEED to learn fiddle), languages, primitive skills
Sharing: Bodywork, Ayurvedic pulse reading
