About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To work hard, save up money, and spend it all on travel! :)
ABOUT ME
I grew up on a farm in a small town in Norway. It's been nearly eight years since I moved away from there (wow, time flies!) and I have just moved to Oslo after spending my past five years as a student in Tromso.
I have been en exchange student in the US twice. My first time I went to a small town called Scobey in north-eastern Montana when I was 17. I stayed there for a year, and got to travel around a bit with my host family. The second time I exchanged I was 25, and did one semester at the University of California, Berkeley. It was the spring semester, so I had the pleasure of going on spring break to the Bahamas and Miami together with my roomies. Good times, memorable moments and some of the best people I've met in my life.
I guess I might be a bit shy in the beginning when meeting new people (that's something I'm working on), but it doesn't take me long to warm up. I don't get stressed very easily, and I have learned that there's usually a solution for every problem that might arise, as long as you give it some thought and don't panic. I think of myself to be very considerate.. one of the worst feelings I know, is the feeling of being in the way or being an annoyance to someone else. I clean up after myself and I respect any rules my host has stated in his/her profile.
I guess I'm a very calm person. I often feel that a nice meal and drinks together with friends is better than going out to crazy parties. Although that's nice as well sometimes ;)
I have studied psychology, and never really considered anything else. People have always been my greatest interest, and I am always up for long, serious talks (I am a good listener), as well as drinks and having a laugh.
If I ever won the lottery, I would do all the "grown up" things like buying an apartment, paying loans and put some in a savings account.. but I would also spend a decent chunk of it on traveling around the world for a year or two. This is something I have in my head very often these days.. It's been a while since I traveled, and I catch myself daydreaming about it a lot, hehe :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I participate by helping people out when they are planning their trip to my city. Also planning on hosting whenever I can, and meeting people for a coffee or a drink, or simply show them around. I am also planning on doing some surfing next year, when I hopefully got enough money saved up to go on an around the world trip ;)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have never surfed before, but I have hosted a few people when I lived in Tromso. It was all positive experiences, and I am so happy I joined this community :)
Interests
I do some artwork in the form of painting. Not an expert, but I find it very soothing for some reason. I also like going out with my friends, playing computer games, cooking, traveling +++ I also really enjoy my job where I get to help and care for people who cannot care for themselves, and I think I'll always like jobs where I get to show compassion and care for other people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When in Samoa, I got invited by a Samoan family to join them for Sunday lunch. We went out to a small island where no cars or dogs were allowed, and they prepared a feast followed by singing, guitar playing, swimming in the ocean and cold beers. Amazing people, lots of smiles, laughs and a great atmosphere :)
So, me and my roomies in Berkeley were going out to see Guetta in San Francisco. It was just the four of us in the apartment, and suddenly one of the girls gets her camera and we start taking hundreds of pictures. The day after, she put all the pictures together and made a video of it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhTeDo7jk_0
