CURRENT MISSION

I'm hoping to travel around the world for at least 2 years, the longer the better! I don't want to do the "normal" tourist thing. I want to stay places longer than a week, I want to immerse myself into cultures, learn languages, meet locals!

ABOUT ME

I've been working two jobs for the past three years saving to travel the world! On November 8 2013 my dream came true and I landed in Sydney, Australia. I'm aiming to be gone as long as I can and couch surfing will be a great way to stretch my travel time. People that say they are " low maintenance and chill" tend to be the complete opposite, but I assure you I am both those things! I grew up with hippie parents in the middle of the woods but have been living in Seattle since I was 18. I love both lifestyles for different reasons. The city for its music, art, people watching, restaurants, festivals, and opportunities. The wilderness for the freedom, pure beauty, and tranquility. I hope some day to retire on a sustainable farm in the Pacific Northwest but while I'm still young I want to travel, travel, travel!

PHILOSOPHY

I only have one shot at this life and I'm gonna do everything I can with it! I wake up happy and ready to enjoy each day with a smile. The only thing I want to spread is peace. That makes me sound like a total hippie.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

since I'm traveling around like a nomad for sometime I cannot be a host quite yet but when I return to Seattle I would love to host and meet new friends from all over the world!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My only experience of yet is meeting travelers who have used couch surfing. I also have friends that have started hosting in Seattle.

Interests

I love ARTs painting,drawing, printmaking, pottery, sewing, you name it, I love it! The OUTDOORs, hiking, camping, swimming, laying on the beach, basking in the sun, or jumping in puddles. MUSIC, going to concerts, or just listening at home and having dance parties (with or without others) I am a TOTAL plant nerd (botany was my focus in college). I also am a sucker for animals! I love to cook and would love to cook for, or with you!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music of all types, I have a massive vinyl collection at home which includes everything from radio head to dolly pardon. I love indie (wolf parade,tapes n tapes, LCD sound system) classic rock( Zeppelin, stones, kinks) punk ( dead Kennedy's, X, bikini kill) electro (the knife, le Tigre) old country (cash, hank Williams, patsy cline). I really really love music!!
Favorite authors include Tom Robbins, Kurt Vonnegut, Richard braugtigan.
My favorite movies are usually documentaries but I love comedies as well. Also I a girl so I like the notebook.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've traveled all through the west coast, many times but a few summers back I took my Volkswagen van and camped down the coast for 3 months! Ive been to many cities throughout the States, canada many times. My favorite experience was going to Guatemala last fall!
