About Me

During the past 2 decades I spent in NYC gaining the development skills
for the high tech internet industry. As a consultant/developer I was
honored to work with some of the non-profits, such as Women’s
International Health Coalition, (Ford Foundation) Malaria Foundation
(CDC), The Gandhi Foundation (Mahatma Gandhi’s Grandson) and The World Peace Organization (UN Orgs) to name a few. Working side by side withsuch interesting people like Governor Patterson of New York, Winnie
Mandela and Ralph Nader, as an example, has influenced and encouraged
me to continue my work.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During my travels to Europe, throughout France and England, while working on various publishing projects, I was invited to stay in homes and it made the travel needs so much easier. So helpful in being with locals rater than waner blindly looking for things.

Interests

Time seems to pass so quickly and I am on to discover the next amazing
phase of my life. Having spent my LA years in the music industry
working in management at Columbia with Bob Summers, Bill AuCoin and
Neil Bogart at Casablanca, I helped manage some of the top recording
artists, such as Billy Idol, Gene Simmons, Peter Frampton and Bob
Seger. I gained a plethora of experience in handling all of the
delicate details of working closely with people on projects.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Built a computer lab in a school for 3700 South India students; K - 12 for to facilitate a student exchange program to keep it thriving.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’ve offered state-of-the-art training and critical technological services to disadvantaged youth in New York City. As the Associate Director of the Willow Opportunity Center from 1994 to its closing in 2001. I was dedicated to finding new ways of providing career choices through computer literacy to the residents of under-privileged communities. The Willow Opportunity Center was the only economic development, technology-based training center within the Empowerment Zone serving the South Bronx, New York City.

I have provided computer and life skills training for Youth Fair Chance, South Bronx Educational Development Fund, and Hostos Community College. I’ve also supervised and provided the training for Fund for New York City Public Education’s, Project First. ProjectFirst was President Clinton's special project to enhance the technological expertise of teachers and librarians throughout New York City’s School Districts by developing a program training Americorp members to impart the skills needed for teaching Internet navigational skills within the classrooms.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Whether working in third world countries or inner city communities, I have the necessary experience, education and tools that would work well along with group projects on or off site. I welcome the challenge of working to impart a social conscience and a productive future.
