About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Continue packing away the cash for an upcoming 11month round-the-world trip!
ABOUT ME
I am an avid adventurist and lover of all things outdoors! I live to absorb new experiences and cultures, meet new people and get better at the things I like to do. I have done many different things in my life (my resume is a conversation starter, let me tell you!), lived and worked many places, travelled solo and with friends, achieved academic honours in varied fields; I'm a mixed bag of tricks! My best friends would say I'm easy-going, open-minded, intelligent, feisty, and bit crazy ;) Adrenaline is my drug of choice!
PHILOSOPHY
When people ask "Why?", I have always replied "Why not?!". I think that experiences are neither good nor bad but that there is something to be learned or discovered from everything we do and live through, and I want to do it all! I believe that our time on Earth is short as individuals, and we should spend our time doing whatever it is that makes us most happy, but long as a species (just one of the many that have rights to this planet), so we have to start living more sustainably. Let's stop buying so much crap, worrying so much about making our millions, and eating garbage food that entails the suffering of farmed animals and destruction of environment. I'm not perfect by any means, but I do my part and am hoping the rest of the world catches on sooner than later!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love living like a local when I visit a new place, and the best way to do so is to actually live with one! I am super independent and don't mind at all doing things on my own...can be a super easy houseguest....but some tips and advice, maybe an invite to hang with your friends if you're going out - these are the things that turn vacations into adventures and authentic cultural experiences. If you like sharing what you do I love to listen and learn, and if you enjoy travel stories yourself I've got lots!
Interests
I am interested in ANYTHING new. I like to immerse myself in local culture when traveling. I get really excited when I find a "diamond in the rough" experience! I love nature and animals, and both have been known to capture my attention for extended periods of time. I spend most of my time dreaming about my next big adventure and savouring every moment with my friends and family while I'm at home.

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything, anything, anything...I plow through books of all genre's like it's nobody's business and can hum/sing almost any song but will NEVER be able to tell you the song title or artist - I'm missing that part of my brain.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1 - Standing on the highest mountain in the UK, looking down into the clouds
2 - Experiencing Le Rêve in Las Vegas. I didn't stop smiling the whole time...
3 - Standing on the precarious service ladder at the front of my then-home, the Carnival Victory, looking over the endless waters at night
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you about English-Canadian and French-Canadian culture, Canadian wildlife and ecosystems, hunting and fishing practices (I have been hunting for food since I was a child and I have now been spearfishing with my boyfriend for 4 years. At home we pretty much only eat meat that we harvest ourselves!), backpacking on a budget, and how to mix mean drinks (I'm a bartender by trade!).
I'd love to learn more about small-scale farming, anything to do with wildlife and your local ecosystem, what your favourite dish is and how to make it, what the coolest thing you've ever done is, and some phrases in your local language if it's something other than French or English!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my insights from my travel experiences, any fish or game I catch if you can point me in the direction of a spot!, and a nice homecooked meal out of said meat or fishies :)
